If you love playing video games, you’re in luck: the sheer volume of games coming out on PC will more than makeup for the lack of exclusives. In fact, there are so many great PC games coming out in 2022 that narrowing them down to a list of only 10 was extremely difficult! This preview will feature just ten of the best PC games coming out in 2022 and will provide everything you need to know about each one, including their release date, genre, and price point.
1) The Division 2 – Massive, immersive, and realistic
Ubisoft’s second iteration of The Division takes all that was great about the first game and builds on it in a major way. With improved weapons, graphics, and gameplay, The Division 2 is going to be a mega-hit when it’s released. Also, check out Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint and Tom Clancy’s Anthem. Both will be coming out in late 2021, and they look equally as amazing as The Division 2.
2) Battlefield V – Modern FPS game with epic online battles
Battlefield V is being developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts, and it looks like it’s going to be one of the biggest first-person shooters of 2022. It will be set during World War II and will allow players to choose from four different classes when playing multiplayer matches. Each class offers unique abilities, with support skills in each category.
3) Fallout 76 – Unique multiplayer experience
Fallout 76 is a game that’s very different from previous installments in Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic series. Whereas previous games focused on surviving alone in a ruined world, Fallout 76 will throw dozens of players into an online multiplayer environment. Each person controls their own character, who can be customized with any combination of Power Armor parts, weapons, and abilities. In addition to defeating enemies and completing missions, players must also manage their settlement, which means building houses, generating power, and stocking supplies as needed.
4) Red Dead Redemption 2 – Open world game with huge worlds
Red Dead Redemption 2 – Rockstar has been teasing us with a sequel for years, and if they can match or exceed their legendary open-world western, we’re in for one hell of a ride. Not much is known about RDR2, but rumors point to a release around May 2018. From what we’ve seen so far, it looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 will be everything fans hoped for and more.
5) Rainbow Six Siege – Tactical multiplayer shooter
Battle-hardened operators have access to a vast array of unique skills, tactics, and weaponry as they work together on covert operations. Rainbow Six Siege is coming up on its third year in operation and has grown by leaps and bounds since it launched in December 2015. Now that Ubisoft has made some core changes to its monetization strategy, a lot more people are starting to take notice. I’ll keep my eye on Rainbow Six Siege as it grows into a premier competitive shooter over the next few years.
6) Guild Wars 3 – Third installment from the long-running franchise
Guild Wars. For years Guild Wars has been one of the most successful online RPGs to date and it shows no signs of slowing down. Focusing on competitive PVP, ArenaNet has announced that their next installment in Guild Wars will be launched in 2021. Fans have been speculating for years as many hoped there would be the third installment but weren’t sure if it would actually happen after so many years without a release date.
7) Metro Exodus – Post-apocalyptic adventure/survival game
Players take on archery and stealth as they fight their way across a post-apocalyptic landscape in Metro Exodus. Through a series of connected linear levels, players must explore nuclear wastelands while scavenging for supplies, crafting ammo and weapons, and avoiding mutated creatures along their journey. The gameplay has been described as more fluid than in previous entries with deeper weapon customization.
8) Cyberpunk 2077 – Sci-fi RPG by CD Projekt RED
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure game set in a dystopian future. The single-player story follows V, a hired gun on the rise in Night City, a city on the brink of collapse, who’s caught in a power struggle between corporations ruling the streets. We expect to see Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2018 and will be hoping for a first gameplay trailer.
9) Forza Horizon 4 – 4th installment from the racing series
The Forza Horizon series is a spin-off from Microsoft’s flagship racing franchise, featuring arcade-like gameplay and an open world. The game is developed by Playground Games and will be released on October 2nd, 2018 for Xbox One and Windows 10.
